MINISTRY TO MUSLIMS

MISSION AVIATION FELLOWSHIP/ELLIOTT
One of the most famous missionary triumphs in history now has a presence on the Internet's World Wide Web. In a massacre that made headlines in 1956, five American missionaries were killed by Waorani warriours living in the jungles of Ecuador. In 1958, two women took up resdence with the tribe. One was Elisabeth Elliot, wife of martyred missionary Jim Elliot; the other was Rachel Saint, sister of the slain misssionary pilot, Nate Saint. Their work, coupled with the efforts of Wycliffe bible translators, Dr Catherine Peeke and Rosi Jung, has resulted in the conversion of one-quarter of the tribe to Christianity and the completion of the Waorani New Testament in 1992. Internet surfers can now "visit" the Amazonian jungles of Ecuador themselves. By accessing the Mission Aviation Fellowship Website (http://www.maf.org ), they can hear John 3:16 read in the Waorani Language.
